"The group combines a drummer, two bongo players and a DJ to produce some seriously good, bass heavy, tribal rhythms" - Daily Telegraph - review of 2008 Sydney Festival

"The raw energy of live percussion was dropped over a cheeky mix of breaks, dub, funk, hip hop and everything in between... the crowd was bouncing. Percussion Junction, you won yourself a fan tonight!" - In The Mix - review of Sydney Festival 2008

Weapons of Choice: Congas, Djembe & Bongos, Bells, Shakers.

Matt has been playing any percussion instrument he can get his hands on since 1997. It was in this year that he gave up his job as a vacuum salesman to pursue a life of percussion. Over the years he has played in a vast variety of musical settings from a range of cultural backgrounds. This includes performances with touring international artists from Spain (Joaquin Ruiz, Juan Soto, Arcadio Marin), India (Chandrakant Sardeshmukh) and Turkey (Latif Bolat). Matt is competent in a wide variety of percussive styles from Funk to Arabic and has travelled widely including trips to Cuba, West Africa and South America to experience and study percussion first hand. Oh yer, and he also loves his Eskimo Pies and beach worm fishing.

Paul Issa (aka Leaky Pipes, Split Pea, Malcolm, PI)
Weapon of Choice: Drumbuka

Paul has been playing percussion since 1990. In this time Paul has played with many of the finest international and local drummers and percussionist such as Hosam Ramsai, Ghassan Barket and Ben Walsh. Since 2000 Paul has been playing in Sydney nightclubs combining his love of Middle Eastern beats with modern music. Paul also often finds himself playing traditional Lebanese belly dancing shows including performances and workshops at the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival and Sydney Dance Festival and has collaborated with international Flamenco artists. When not playing drums, Paulo prefers to be lazing on a beach somewhere in Laos or cruising the streets on his moped. Also any home renovator who would like an internal water feature to moisten up the house, Paulo is your man.

Kane Goodwin (aka the Man, Shane)
Weapons of Choice: Specialises in drum kit but also bongos, timbales, cowbells, his head, steering wheels

Kane has been playing drums and percussion since 1989. Starting out playing in rock bands around Wollongong such as The Unheard, Dettol, Roads and Boys on Bex. With these bands Kane was lucky to support the likes of Suicidal Tendencies, Bodyjar, Blink 182, Regurgitator, Front End Loader and Tumbleweed. Moving on to something more musically challenging, Kane became interested in percussion and began studying Cuban and African rhythms and a range of percussion instruments. His love of beats and electronic music led to the formation of electronic / live percussion band ‘The FISTS’ which incorporates live drums and sequencing. The FISTS have played all around the traps supporting such bands as The Resin Dogs, Good Bhudda, Endorphin, Nu Breed, Q45 and Johnny Gleeson. When he is not biffing those skins for satan, Kane sleeps face down next to his Dimplex unit and likes nothing more than a good fresh schnitzel and some bread.
